Fort San Pedro

Let’s take a tour to a historical place called Fort San Pedro. The Fort San Pedro is the smallest, oldest triangular bastion fort in the country was built in 1738 to repel Muslim raiders. In turn, it served as a stronghold for Filipino revolutionaries near the end of the 19th Century.

Visiting the museum gives us additional idea about our historical events that happened from the past. Since I’m more on visual, this is one way for me to learn and to understand about the Spanish colonization here in my own country. My hubby and his family are the one who gives me encouragement to like museums because honestly before, I don’t like to visit it because I thought it was boring or so. But as time goes by, I realized that it’s very educational. That’s why I’m impressed with my hubby because he knows a lot, sometimes things that I don’t know, but I hear it from him because, when he and his bro was still a child, their parents often brought them to a different kind of museums. They are my walking encyclopedia (LOL) *wink*.

Fort San Pedro served as the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines.
It is a military defence structure, built by Spanish and indigenous Cebuano laborers under the command of Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi and the Spanish Government in Cebu. It is located in the area now called Plaza Indepedencia, in the Pier Area of Cebu City, Philippines.
