Canal Tour in Amsterdam
Holland is abundant of canals and no wonder that almost every city has its own canal tour which consider as one of their tourist destination. I’ve tried already some canal tour in other city such as Dordrecht and Delft, this canal tour in Amsterdam was my third times to travel using a small boat. The tour was consisting of many people, approximately 15 – 20 people in 1 boat. And the travelling time was about 40 – 50 minutes.
What I like most in this canal tour is you can take a look the part of the city and you can enjoy viewing those old buildings that were built in many years ago. The experience was great because you’re not only enjoying the view, but at the same time you’ve learned something from the tour. The canal tour is not only view watching, but it also include learning something because there’s a tour guide that will explain about the history of the place as well as the old building that you passed by.

i did this, many years ago. i think year 1996. it was amazing having that tour. ohh!! i did it again 1998, when my filipina friend got married to a dutch guy. they had first civil wedding and then we ate at the restaurant. to close the day's affair we did canal tour in amsterdam.
I just love Amsterdam. I lived there for several years up to 2001, just 500 meters from Dam Square. If you ever go there, rent a bike from MacBike at Central Station. You'll get accross the small city center faster, and you'll see more. I heard the new Hermitage Museum is very good too, though my own favorite museum is the Scheepvaart Museum (and the Rijks of course). I never been in other country except my own country, Philippines, and Taiwan. I appreciate your photos because even though I haven't been in Amsterdam, I get the chance to have a glimpse of the wonderful places there.
Did you know that Amsterdam has 165 canals, 1281 bridges, 70 canal cruise boats, 8 wooden drawbridges, 2500 houseboats and 120 water bikes? A canal cruise is a must to explore and discover Amsterdam. Float leisurely along the canals and under the bridges and admire the unique architecture and street life. Authentic Amsterdam is full of surprises!
